We are Portakolasi! We're a small, inclusive, RP-focused Free Company located on Balmung. Our Free Company theme is that of a secretive cult masking its true aims behind the visage of a small drug syndicate, operating out of a drug den called "The Nest".Our FC story plot is ever-evolving with weekly events that detail the conflicts between the Portakolasi and those that would oppose them in their quest for world-shaking power.A major component of our organization's IC story is secrecy and the idea that characters will slowly learn the truth of what the Nbolo's seek. As characters grow, they will be given a bell to symbolize their rank and rising power. This is a major component to our company and FC story and we want people to be excited for character growth as they rp. To that end though, IC and OOC, some aspects are expected to be kept within the FC membership only, to not spoil the fun. So best make sure you are good at keeping secrets.Overall, our goal here at The Portakolasi is to provide a fun, laid-back, inclusive atmosphere where anyone can feel at ease, welcomed, and have fun! Whether just joking around OOC, chilling in other games, helping someone further their personal plot-arc, interacting with the community via random IC RP, or ensuring everyone has a place in our FC story, we want people to enjoy themselves! This is our hobby and it's something we all here enjoy.

Den of the Karasu

Among the streets of the Goblet lies a small, unassuming property with a small sign labeled 'Den of the Karasu' just outside. Inside rests a small, cozy drug den with some of the best, strongest and most exotic strands of delights on any side of the seas. Staffed by those who seek the truth, the parlor is ready and eager to trade coin and secrets for some of the wonders they have stored.In addition to plenty of drugs and drinks, they offer several games of chance. LEADERSHIP AND RANKS

The Archons - 'Those of the Black Bells'

At the helm of The Archons are the ambitious, infamous Kataani and K'rick Nbolo. Together they seek to usher in something greater than what currently is, through any and all means, and will stop at nothing to bring about a brighter future for them and those that follow.

The Stygian - 'Those of the White Bells'

The Hands. These are the trusted and the proven, those whose loyalty is above questioning and have been with the Archons through countless trials and tribulations. They are entrusted with carrying out the Archons' vision. The Hands report directly and are held accountable only to the Archons themselves. Please note that these are OOC officers as well.

The Tartarean - 'Those of the Golden Bells'

The junior officers of the organization. Those who have proven their loyalty and their capacity for performance and the rare trait of leadership. They ensure the will of their superiors are carried out and help guide their family on the path to enlightenment.

The Anemoi - 'Those of the Mirror Bells'

The rank of those who have peered beyond the veil and learned the truth of the Portakolasi. Their powers have begun to grow and their bells are mirrors to represent the self-reflection required to grow further. There are four divisions within this rank, each representing the four winds. As their knowledge and self-understanding grow, so too does their power. These sub-ranks are:

  • The Boreas - Those of the North Wind reflect upon themselves.

  • The Zehpyrus - Those of the Sound wind reflect upon their past.

  • The Notus - Those of the East Wind reflect upon their present.

  • The Eurus -Those of the West wind reflect upon their future.

The Veiled - 'Those of the Glass Bells'

Those who have sworn an oath to serve for life and have been given a glimpse into the truth. Their bell is glass to represent their understanding is fragile, their resolve just now taking shape. They learn, think, and grow.

The Chosen

Initiates that have proven they are genuine by staying and working for more than two weeks. They do not see the secrets or know the truth, but they have shown more resolve than most. They are watched closely to see if their loyalty can be trusted and if their capabilities prove they are worthy of knowledge and power.

The Called

Those with curiosity. They barely hear whispers of the truth but what they hear is of interest. These are the initiates, working for the organization, doing labor, not unlike their lives before coming. But if they are true and seek after the truth, they are just beginning their great journey.

IC RULES

THE LAWS OF THE BELLSSecrecy: The world is not yet ready for the truth as you are. To that end you are expected to hold the knowledge you gain close to your chest and speak only of it to those that walk the same path.The Bell: Once given a bell, it must always be on your person. This is a part of you, marks you as one of us. This is not an option. Three rings symbolizes a deed requested or required.Loyalty: You will be loyal. The orders of any superior are to be followed without question. Defiance of an order shall be explained immediately. Betrayal of this organization and your family shall be meet with your destruction at our hands.Respectful: We expect you to be respectful of everyone. Even your enemies. 'Manners maketh the man' and you will bow to superiors.Pack Mentality: You will treat your fellow members with courtesy, dignity, and respect. You will ensure their needs are equal in importance to your own. Be ready to have their back at a moment's noticeAmbitious: You came to us because you wanted more than what you knew, to be more than what you were. Never stop striving to grow.Actions have Consequences: Your actions no longer just affect you, they affect this family. Rewards and punishments are handed out in equal measure.Personal Appearance: We expect perfection in body and soul. Physically, you will ensure you keep yourself in peak condition for any conflict. Your hair shall be well-kept. We expect your attire to be lavish, effective, impressive, and professional at all times. Your boots will be polished. Your belts lacquered. Your blades clean and sharp.Conduct: We demand professional conduct. You represent this family.We reserve the right to make more rules for you as we see fit.

OOC RULES

1. Please don't be a butt OOCly. The most important part of RP is to have fun, and being a butt makes that harder for everyone else.2. This is a 21+ Discord & Free Company. Both you and your character(s) must be 21 or older.3. This is an open-minded FC, and discrimination will not be tolerated.4. Owing to the FC's nature, dark and mature roleplay themes are a frequent occurence. With that said, be considerate of one another. If you plan on introducing dark or otherwise heavy themes into a scene, please let others know so that they may be prepared. When in doubt, ask permission!5. If a topic is introduced into a scene that you are uncomfortable with at an OOC level, please let others know so that they can either adjust the scene or provide a way for you to remove yourself from it. We never want you to feel obligated to stay in an RP scene that you are not comfortable with.6. Conflict-based roleplay is another frequent occurence. As above, please be considerate, and try to avoid having IC influence OOC interactions. If a scene becomes too heated, or you are concerned about it affecting others OOCly, please reach out to the officers.7. Mental well-being takes precedence over everything else. Never feel obligated to attend an event or engage in RP, and never worry about being punished or left out if you need some personal time away. If you need a break, please let the officers know! That's all there is to it.

We'll look over the application and then sit down for a short interview via voice chat. If we think you are a good fit, we'll arrange an rp bring you in as an 'Initiate' so you can see what you think and make sure we're where you want to set up home IC. After a few weeks, if you think we're a good fit for you and your character, your character will gain a rank and they'll begin their journey.
